This is my 1st visit & post to Canadian Poncho and I owned a '67 Parisienne 2+2 convert...

I don't have time today to type before heading off to work, but briefly my father bought me a junk '67 2+2 for my 18th birthday in 1978. It was rusted junk, but I had great times with it. I used it 1 summer, and kept it in storage until about 10 years ago when I sold it, and presumably it got restored and is at car shows somewhere.

On my bucket list is a '65 Parisienne Custom Sport convert, into which I hope to install a 409, prolly with a T5 5 speed. My father bot a new '65 Parisienne, prolly had a 283, was bench seat PG. Here's a pix of me in 1967 with my new bike. I'll tell you more about other 409 exploits when I have more time.

I now collect Corvairs and diesel Suburbans, and travel out west yearly to bring them back. Ill be flying to California in 3 weeks and buying another 6.2 4x4 3/4 ton diesel Sub, and towing a '68 Corvair Monza back from Durango Colorado.

Ignore the date stamp, I took those pix from my old foto album on that date. Note the Datsun 510

Where are you from ?

The reason I ask, is because one of the previous owners of my 68 2+2 was a fella from Ontario who regularly
travelled out west to collect Corvairs. I'm wondering if you're the same guy.

Regards, Scott (LandShark ...)

Welcome.  There were countless thousands of 65 sport converts built, so it probably won't be to hard to find one .... 409 would be tough tho

My 2+2 was a '67, and I havn't brought any Corvairs cars back, only one '62 Rampside. Actually I did bring a '64 Monza from central California, and I'll make the '65 409 as I doubt they made more than a handful. I'll tell you the story about the other '67 2+2 getting the 409 in the pix.

The '68 2+2 was at a local Sears getting new ball joints, never saw it again after that summer '78 pix.

My '67 had a 283, I put on the 3-2's and TH350 and 3.36 12 bolt posi

Welcome aboard. I like Corvairs. Do you bring these cars back to sell? If so, feel free to post them here.

I really don't sell much. I had 3 early models Corvair 'verts, and 2 white-red, so I gave one to Mrs, and she had it painted '61 Olds Twilight Mist. It still needs an interior and chrome, but no time to play. I have a '63 Vert, decent driver quality she is bugging me to sell.. But I can keep em all as we have lots of storage.

I've had a '66 Skylark GS vert since 1980, rusty New England car but loaded and factory red! I drove it one summer and parked it in heated storage for 25 years. It's in a barn now, mice nibbling on it. It's for sale, last year for 401 nailhead

Here's the '64 Corvair a little bit after I bought it. My alter ego is your host...

The GS is the same car from the 1979 pix

Welcome aboard.
With winter coming we'll all have lots of time to listen to stories about the cars you've had.

Yeah, I've had a few, most were junk that I just nursed along, which at 54 is what I'm still doing! I was working on my newly acquired '65 Corvair Monza, most original mechanics, 93k, Az car. And my '84 Suburban DD tranny isn't shifting. I have the pan off again, waiting for some advice from the tranny expert. I drove it to Detroit last month, and it stopped shifting near home, and then just as suddenly came back, now not shifting again. 700R4, and I dropped the VB and changed governor, and chkd TV cable etc.

Cool pics, what was the story of the'67 442? I had a '67 cutlass as my unofficially first car  at 17, and my parents first car was a '66 Corsa coupe with fawn interior and aztec bronze exterior .
