Never understand the mentality of posting lousy pictures that show the car is he worst of condition. Take a week, clean it up get someone who knows how to take a picture then post it for sale for $10,000 more. All this ad suggest is that that the seller is desperate for money.

Looks like the $40K pro restoration shop used POR15 generously on the rusted out edges of the inner wheel wheels & break drums for good measure.

Yikes - what a mess, at first glance for $55,000 invested (15+40) in a $20,000 car (is it even an SD model, ad doesn't say...??).

- even has the front GM 396 cross flag's, might still be a "driver" vs a "decent or correct frame off"

........agree Ray.......this is a poor case of something........get the car correct starting with removing

those CHEVY cross flags and put it's Beaumont dignity back  (V8) and about 5" down

"Selling for a friend..." The seller may not be as knowledgeable as the car's owner. Then again perhaps it is a ruse.

It says that it is a real V8 Beaumont convertible, as in a 736 series. That isn't necessarily saying it is an original Sport Deluxe. Could even be a 734 series for that matter. It wouldn't be the first 734 series to gain buckets, console & selected trim...

It says that it has power steering. The original p/s setup on a big block car would be a remote reservoir setup because of the short water pump and the resultant accessory grouping. If it is a later long style water pump using the integral p/s pump then I would say that the car is most likely just a built car. Offer accordingly.

If that car is a factory Sport Deluxe with a documented 396 then it needs to have the V.V.S. documentation. Then I guarantee that car will be gone, brush paint restoration or not. (Sorry, that was mean). Por15 is not a restoration. The frame sections I do see look decent, but thats just it. What are they really showing potential buyers? Whatever they want to show, and nothing else.

It has the long water pump setup on it in the picture.

Still, there's only one way to prove if it's a big or small block car, and thankfully that documentation is available.

The car looks like a custom, guy has removed all custom trim, can't afford to put on SD trim. I'd be scrutinizing firewall plate, especially the rivits, wouldn't surprise me tags have been rebodied, that car screams custom model. There's no way that car has had a frame off, restoration, frames didn't come bumpy like that, you'd think the guy would have replaced the rear springs as part of the forty grand, buyer beware on that car.  The ad is "no longer available",

Guy got back to me this morning and it sold yesterday. Might not have been great but was worth that anyhow.

I wonder where he got the "274" number. Doesn't match anything in our registry.

I think it was "well bought" if the body is decent. POR 15 may not be Concours, but from my experience, it does do what it's advertised to do.

I use these products sparingly on very light surface rust in impossible to get at places. The deeper rust areas do not get penetrated and thus these products can't promote the formation of ferric tannate. The deeper rust is just covered now by the thin layer of ferric tannate.

Here is a pretty good video I watched the other day showing some angle iron after a year. Notice the POR-15 in the cab of his truck after a year though. Perhaps he didn't have proper surface prep or ?

The guy should let the black paint dry before he takes a pic next time...............

Be very surprised if it actually sold.

When I said 734 I really meant 732 series. Funny that the seller quoted 274 as the production, that is what the 732 series convertible production figure was.
