I posted these pics of this big block '66 SC before, any ideas who ran this poncho?
1966 Strato Chief 2 door, 427 4 speed, 45,000 original miles
1966 Grande Parisienne, 396 1 of 23 factory air cars (now converted to a "factory" 4 speed)
The owner of the white car was William (Willie) Campbell from Sackville New Brunswick Canada.... 35 miles south of Moncton N.B.
He was a adopted son of a Funeral Home director.. His dad bought it for him to drive to University (in Sackville)
Car was 396-326 4 speed was run in Sanford Maine USA and in Scoudouc dragway out side of Moncton
Had the 396-325 (still running well) replaced "under warrany" for a L72 (he was buddy of service manager at Chev store)
Car was run mostly on the street not much could out run it... Car was down to 283 3 speed by 1970 and smashed up that year was crushed in 2005
Was the reason for my love of Big cars....
WOW!!! Thanks for the quick reply and the documentation! Sad ending for the SC. After it was wrecked in '70 what happened to it from then until 2005 when it was crushed?
Strangely enough, it sat in the farm yard, of the fellow I bought my white 66 Strato Chief from
They just cleaned up and away it went
I have the original hub caps off it, and a school friend of mine has the L72 in a 68 Chevelle SS
