Good : runs and drives strong starts with no problems (could use a new battery) needs almost nothing for safety and emissions 80kms on new rotors, pads, calipers and drums $1000 in new parts added no leaks on vehicle
Bad : minor exhaust leak (part purchased),AC compressor bearing squealing (needs replacing or delete kit) Ac still works, minor rust on rear quarter common issue wont affect safety
Only 184,000kms asking 2000 price negotiable,

What an awesome daily driver, especially with today's gas prices.

Would this be worth it, just to get that motor and tranny. I always thought that these cars were some of the ugliest looking cars on the road but at least they had real engines in them.

I drove LT1's for about 14 years as daily drivers. I'm down to one LT1 Trans Am now, our summer only toy. I did a rough estimate in my head. In approx. 355,000 km's, I did the following-

-replaced one engine because I unknowingly bought a car with a cracked block, so write that one off to stupidity!

-3 water pumps

-2 starters

-1 fuel pump

-1 thermostat

-1 power steering hose

-0 transmission repairs

-0 fuel injection related items

-0 Optispark replacement (distributors on the LT1) which guys LOVE to rant about on the other car forums as being so unreliable!

-O engine mechanical (valvetrain, crank/rods/pistons, cylinder head work of any sort)

This is on 4 different cars (Roadmaster, 2 Impalas, Fleetwood) over 14 years. These cars did winter and summer, most of the time sitting outside all 4 seasons in Manitoba.

Of course I did regular stuff, spark plugs and plug wires, brake jobs, wheel bearing repack etc but I think these are one of the best cars ever made in this era.

WAIT STOP!

I know this is all lies. I know for a fact that Manitoba has only 2 seasons, winter and road repair season!
