Dont miss this chance for a one in a million classic car! This is a Time Capsule from 1981

*Please note the car is now in storage until April 30 2015 - if you want to look at the car arrangements would have to be made and the car cannot be moved prior to then. storage is paid for so if you want to buy that car can stay no charge to you until then.

This is a 99% original caras in still a new original car. It has only 53000 original kilometres on the odometer and looking around the car there is no doubt they are accurate.

1981 Mercury Grand Marquis, 302 cui V8, C4 automatic Transmission, PS, PB, Cruise, Tilt, A/C, Power driver seat, AM/FM Cassette, Power antenna, Power windows, Power Locks, Power trunk, P205/75R14 WSW all season tires, Auto parking brake release, Black with factory red pin stripes, red cloth interior.

This car is easier to describe with what is not original:
-It had four new tires put on three years or 1000 kms ago.
-It has a new battery 3 years or 1000 kms ago
-It had a windshield replaced somewhere along its life.

The Good (above and beyond other used 1981 cars)
-100% original black paint and still shines like brand new
-Flawless original vinyl top.
-Perfect red valour interior
-Original spare tire has never been on the ground.
-All of the original dealer sales and ordering catalogues.
-1981 shop and service manuals
-Documentation from Ford Motor Company on this vehicle
-2011 Antique & Collector car appraisal valued at $13,200 CAD (Does not suggest a retail value)
-The tags and inspection stamps and chalk marks are still all visible form the factory
-Front brake pads were changed due to a sticky calliper and original pads boxed and kept.
-Original 1981 date code spark plug wires.
-NO RUST! And never undercoated! CLEANEST 1981 around
- Original 53,000 kms and no it has not rolled over!
-Ontario car since new Never winter driven.
-Caught in the rain only a handful of times and always garage kept!

The bad (or not as good as above)
-The paint is 33 years old and has a few marks in it here and there but was never touched up because of the originality factor (I was advised to not touch it)
-The transmission has a small fluid leak that I believe is coming from the front seal but not sure (it is original and gaskets do get dry)
-The engine oil has a small leak also again likely the result of a dry gasket.
-R12 A/C was working when I purchased the car But it has been in storage for several years now so I am not going say that is still works

Asking $7800.00 in the ad. Price is negotiable. Looking to free up some space and money for our wagon project. I am willing to float it to LHF Hansen's yard in Scarborough if buyer wants the car shipped cross country. It drove problem free last time I drove it however it has only really ever been outside for photos in the last 8 or so years and only had about 1100 kms put on it in that time. Would like to see it go to a good home.

Thanks for looking!

Actually, when this body style came out, it could run circles around the previous gen. There was no competition between the two. None. Zero. It was a revelation and we weren't used to it.

My dad  had a 77 Grand Marquis, and got a 79 Mercury Marquis 351 as his next company car. Yea, smaller, but it could blow the 77 away in everything but softness. And yes, it was actually 351 in 1979. Went to 302 soon after. The thing was silly fast...really quick, and great on its feet. It had the HD suspension because my dad had to bring steel samples back to Dofasco every other week. He was a customer service rep 1973-96.

We took it to Florida once, I was 17 and got to drive it. Truly, it was my first shot at really enjoying a car. My brother bought it from dad then totaled it. I'll try to find some shots of it. I remember it well.

It was medium blue with no vinyl top, blue cloth interior.

These cars are nice.

I have someone coming for a third visit this weekend I think. I have the original tires and the spare has never touched the ground. All the stamps and tags and chalk marks are on it still. It's a one on a million car. Too bad its not collectible like a mustang or something. It should be in a museum somewhere
