Headlight switch connector..Mine is melted

I found replacement connectors for GM headlight switches, problem is, they are noted to fit 1966 and up.

it looks mighty similar but mine is so melted I'm not 100% sure it would work ( unless I buy a 1966 headlight switch )

This is what I found.

Any input?

Thanks

G

Hey G,

I might have one if still needed ... I have a whole spaghetti factory of wires that I've kept, and I'll look through them.

... Darryl.

I still need one for sure, Darryl. Let me know what you find. Thanks

Yeah, I questioned if I had found right part considering it stated 1966 and up.

Well, a switch and a connector would be very useful for sure. They're not all that hard to find. I don't know if it's worth it for you to dig those out but if you're up to it, PM me.

The CS is a 2+2 equivalent, right?
Console w/shifter , bucket seats, dash clock?

FYI: I basically have no interior so if anything comes up for a wagon, or more likely, a 4door, let me know!

Thanks everyone

G

Understandable, that is looking pretty nasty there.

I had no idea there is a repro connector for the headlight switch. Nice to see that option for us.

Custom sport has no US equal... It is a combination of the Catalina..Bonneville...and Gran Prix...

US floor pans are different, so I can't comment if 2+2  buckets are a bolt in...

If it's like the 65 and up seats, the tracks are completely different between Canadian and US Pontiacs. The seats will interchange as long as the tracks stay with the floor pan, not the seat.

Have you considered using relays to avoid putting so much juice through the headlight switch.

I put 4 relays on my Impala, gets the full power to the headlights and doesn't fry the wiring. Much brighter light as well.

Just my 2C worth.

For now I will probably leave it stock and carry a fire extinguisher...

It's a great idea Cliff. A dual hi/lo could also be done at the same time.

Cheers
