thought i'd take a couple of pics while i had the car up on the hoist today..

Where is that first picture taken?

Still trying to figure it out. Is that driver's side behind the rear wheel?

         I think so..  

         I found some Impala responses mentioning the left rear    

 

         Can't find it on mine yet....   will look this afternoon as I have left wheel off.....

Why post your vin tag numbers? are you looking to get your vin ripped off? People rip them off, create new tags and register them.

 On the chassis rail just behind the LH rear wheel. Passenger side in australia, drivers side your side of the pond....

 they can do the same thing at car shows and displays....not really something that happens in australia to classics. They get stolen and dismantled for the parts then the bodies are hacked up and dumped never to be seen again. If there is a canadian or american on this site who are into this sort of thing thats sad....and a long way from me i guess But you do have a point.....

Wasn't trying to be a clown, mate. Just bringing awareness to ya on a huge problem on this side of the pond, so ya don't get ripped off. Hot Rod magazine did a write up about it a few years ago. You're right, they rip them off at car shows or when they come see vehicles posted for sale. I keep a strip of electrical tape over mine, its no ones business. If a vin is to be posted I block last three digits with a x, cheers
