I remember seeing a show on TV, and it made mention of the awkward cargo area in back (several different levels of walls and floor) to accommodate the engine.

I have always loved these special Corvair trucks. My favorite has always been the one where the whole side drops down as a ramp on the passenger side. The HOT ROD magazines i collected as a kid had wheel stand Corvair trucks like the "Back Up Pick up" doing the quarter mile on two wheels going backwards. This super solid example just needs a paint job and original wheels to snazz it up.

If a guy were on a budget he could have that van vinyl wrapped and save thousands instead of painting. I've also seen some impressive results that some guys are getting by spraying a car with Plasti Dip. You can even buy a custom sprayer for this stuff:

3-4 coats will last about 3 years of daily use. When you get sick of the colour you just peel it off and start again.

This teal colour would look cool on this van with a set of Radir wheels and white white tires

When I was a youngster, they were referred to as 'Corvans" by some.
