Some years ago I saw these and traced it's position to the Hollister Ranch, one of the most exclusive and longest stretches of private beach in California. You can get to the beach (as you can any private beach in California) but it's a long long walk from the nearest public access point. The car was west of Santa Barbara near Arroyo San Augustin. I can no longer see it on google so I suspect it's been removed.

"According to Mike Baird, who is the photographer of these images, this is whats left of a 1964 Pontiac Bonneville nine passenger wagon that reported to have stalled on the Morro Bay California Sand Spit in 1973. These images were taken in May of 2010 after the car was uncovered by a series of winter storms."

I stand corrected. There was a shape on Google Earth about four years ago that looked so much like this (on the beach I described) and it was even at the correct angle. Of course that section of the google imaging is not very high def. Apologies if I misled anyone.
