1962 1963-64 pontiac back up light differences, accessory part number info needed...

Hey all I found a couple pairs of backup light lenses advertised as 62-64 pontiac, and am hoping they will work for my 63 parisiennes.

The gm accessory numbers are 5773660, and 5730597 I tried searching these numbers with no luck whatsoever so I'm hoping they

are canadian pontiac part number, and that someone here may be able to help me decode the correct application. one set is chrome and one is black. Thanks for any help in advance...

I too looked and there is no listing of those numbers for  Pontiac back-up lenses.

The numbers for the years are for the following.

1962: 544966 (both sides the same)

1963: 544851 (both sides the same)

1964: 9775263 (both sides the same)

My guess the ones you have are for other GM models (Chev,Buick ect,)

The back up lamp assembly numbers for your 1963 Parisienne are:

two of #897792 for sedan, hardtop and convertible

one #928218 (right side), one #928217 (left side) on Safari (station wagon)

Back up lamp lens is #5953210 (1962-63)

Where did you get those two part numbers? I have the GM accessory catalogues from the 60's and I can't find either number in any of them.

I took a gamble and bought those lights from the guy in PA.  I got them last night and they do fit my 62. I tried ones from a 64 but they are too small and had many years of road grime on them.   Not sure if they are the right ones for my car, but they look great and fit really well.  They were well worth the $60 gamble.

Based on what I've read elsewhere on here the 62s are stand alone.
Isn't it a good feeling when things work out

That's excellent. I can't figure out why the number isn't in the accessory book. It must be a changeup but typically accessories like that are only available for a few years after a new model comes out, then GM drops it because of lack of sales once the car gets older.
