1968 wagon roof rack trade? or?

I have aquired a roofrack from a 1968-72 A-body chevelle/beaumont wagon. in VGC.   I really want a 1964-1967 one.

If anyone wants to do a trade?   I could modify this one to fit my 64 wagon, but it would be really nice to find the right one.

Any leads appreciated.

Would John have one Dave?

I think he has a 69, is it the same rack?

The one i got is for 1968-1972ish as far as i know,  i am going to mod it slightly to fit my 64.    But again, if anyone has a 1964-1967 rack i would be interested for sure.

hEY dave-what year is your wagon? 68 is a one year only roof rack.I will check on the 66/67 rack i had but I think it went with my 66 wagon when I sold it.

Doing more research,  i think it must be 69-72,  you are right john, 68 looks more like the 64-67 style.  Anyone know the exact year?

I do know for sure it is an A-body, the size is exact, and the roof slats line up perfect.

Default Re: 1967 Chevelle Wagon Luggage rack

Yes, option RPO V55 Roof Luggage Carrier; 8,834 sold and available on all wagon models. Finding a correct OEM rack today may be difficult. My parts book shows the individual pieces of the rack but not a complete assembly. Some pieces are interchangeable with multiple years of Chevelle & Passenger car wagons, some aren't.

There is a Chevelle Wagons group on Yahoo.com you might try or check http://einstyn.com/ - he deals in a lot of new and used wagon parts and is pretty sharp from what I read from the group.

definitely not a 68.It is a 69-70 roof rack-especially with the wood grain-einstyn.com is Pete Lohr-he knows his wagon stuff-big time-he will identify exactly what it is.

Again I will check tomorrow as I always seem to buy/find multiples of everything I want/dream of building.20 some odd years of hardcore wrecking(a disease Stevenson passed on to me) has landed me with lots of parts-sometimes scares me how much stuff I have.

Well, you know how it is, alcoholics hate drinking alone, they want others to be as miserable as they are. I did it out of selfishness!

Think how different things might have been if we'd never met at that little Fort Garry swap meet so long ago.

Thanks guys,  i'm pretty sure i have asked everyone over the years, but no luck with the 64-67 rack.  This one is in really nice shape, so its going on the car,   without the woodgrain pinstripe of course!  I can always take it off if i find the correct one.

Ya,  i'm one of those guys too, Carl.... too many parts to remember!

Dont want to sell the one i have,  just trade it for a proper 1964 one, in similar condition.
