1977 LeMans tail light question

Seeing the '77 GT for sale on another thread and looking up what the package had, I realized that the GT was only available on LeMans Sport. One feature of the LeMans Sport was a wider tail light treatment from the LeMans. See below. This being the case I'm now wondering why the car for sale has LeMans style tail lights and not LeMans Sport and I'm also wondering the same for the Can Am. Looks like while the GT and Can Am were based on the Sport Coupe the wider tail lights were deleted. Anyone?

Can Am (based on LeMans SportCoupe) tail lights

I am assuming the rear spoiler and Can Am ID made it necessary to delete the wider LeMans Sport tail light.

This car would have originally had GT ID on the rear panel so I'm assuming the ID placement required deletion of LeMans sport tail lights.

The additional "lights" on the red car above are just two piece reflectors (lens and chrome surround) that surface mount on the trunk lid.
The GLM at the bottom, has a full width trim panel that includes the plastic lens of those reflectors in its design.

Sorry you had to wait a while for a response :)

Ray, I believe you are right about the inboard tail light section being eliminated on the trunk lid of the Can Am & the GT due to the spoiler (Can Am) & the GT Decal (GT).

Looking back at a 76 Olympic Edition Lemans Sport, well the decal between the tail lights was just a red band with a small Olympic Ring set that was small enough to not "compete" with the tail lights:
