Slake your thirst for a great restoration project for a very rare classic car. Designed by John DeLorean, the 1961 Pontiac Tempest won Motor Trend's Car of the Year for it's revolutionary four-wheel independent suspension and rear transaxle. What we have here, behind curtain number one, is a 1961 sedan in original condition, with expected wear yet with a flawless and rust-less body. The interior is shot and it won't shift out of 1st gear. Behind curtain number two is my 1962 Pontiac Tempest Safari Wagon, one of a handful on the planet. I've had it for 17 years and put over 20K into its restoration. Unfortunately I rolled it down an embankment and messed it up big time. My intention is (was) to restore the sedan using all the good parts from the wagon (which is pretty much everything except the sheet metal). Both cars run. The sedan was recently driven from Oliver to Peachland. The wagon was tip-top before the accident. It has new tires, shocks, brakes, rebuilt engine and trans. I have all the receipts. I am moving and can no longer pursue this project. I'm looking for that one person who, like me, wants to save these rare gems. This is the grand-daddy of the Muscle Car offspring that was to come. In 1964, the Pontiac Tempest became the legendary GTO.
