Identify this gear set and it might be yours for a donation to CP

I was given this rear end last year by Mark.. CdnPoncho and thought that it would fit in my Impala

I got a quote to swap the rear end gears out and decided that it would have to wait till next year... 2016

I went a few weeks ago to a recommended transmission shop in Scarboro and got there early.  Decided to just wait till it was completed.

Well, after a while the shop manager came out to tell me that the rear end gears were the wrong ones.

I ended up having a new set of 3.07 ring and pinion installed.   Parts had to be ordered.  Left the car for a couple of days and on the intended day to pick it up there was freezing rain.

Car stayed in the shop till the next day when the weather cleared....

Here is the pics that I have which need to be identified and sent to a new home for a donation to CP

Yes, that is what is in there

I was told the station wagon had a big block in it, you would have thought it would have had a 12 bolt..

Built this one some ten years ago. Was a 327 four speed with a 3:36 ten bolt rear end. I found a twelve bolt with 2:73 gear set and put that in to replace the worn out ten bolt. Was awesome on gas on the highway with a very high top end. BUT... the tranny was meant for 3:36 gears and I had to rev it like a british sports car to get her rolling. Literally had to back up my brothers steep driveway in Kelowna, kinda embarrassing. Probably would have been a different story  with an automatic.67 impala.jpg

Sure is one sweet ride

All of the chrome, wheel wells, mirrors and a great shine,  turn signals.

Is it still in existence.

Yes it still lives in Saskatoon. New owner hot rodded it with a crate big block muncie trans posi diff big egxaust etc.  I couldn't afford to keep it (built it with a credit card) lesson learned. I'm working on a 67 Caprice now that I bought from a guy who bought it for the 396 for his Camaro. A motorhome 454 lives in it now. That's a very striking blue your car is, most of the ones I see are the lighter washed out shade.

I agree with you about the washed out colour

I chose an 86 Corvette colour, dont have any details at to codes or anything.

Was painted about 8 years ago after the 2 year restoration
