Don't believe there was a 2-door sedan.

Would love to know the production numbers on a straight six with three on the tree full size  71 Pontiac, though.

1968 was the final year for a full size traditional 2 dr sedan.

1977 brought them back but they were called Coupes.

Inline 6 returned for 1977 also!!

Not too likely it would have come with power brakes or steering considering its high standard of standardness so that would have to be the worlds biggest, hardest to drive and slowest barge. It's almost worth buying just to see how unwieldy a car could be

I have kept my eyes open to these cars since they were new. Although I have seen a few 71 Chevrolets & surprisingly a bunch of 6-cylinder 72 Chevrolets over the years, I have never seen or heard of a 71 or 72 Laurentian with a 6. The sixes on the 1971-73 full-sized Chevrolets (& 71-72 Pontiacs) used a left hand tail pipe while the V8s used a right hand tail pipe (or duals).

The big GM cars for 1971 all came with power front disc brakes, even 6-cylinder no-option Biscaynes. Power steering was made standard in March of 1971, plus the Hydramatic was made standard on all V8s at that same time.

 Absolutely right George, 1969 was the last year for 2 door post (sedan) Chevy Biscaynes.

 Yeah that makes sense.  You really cant run discs without power assist.  I remember the early days of my forestry career where we had a 1974 3/4 ton 2wd chevy pickup without a single option except a heater and it had power disc brakes. It must have been sheer necessity that forced the power steering to be standard as the GM cars were surely getting huge and heavy by that time.  I do remember that 3/4 ton was kind of a workout to drive.

On my coffee break just now I opened the Chevy full size parts book and there's clutch parts listed in there up to and including 1973. I would have lost that bet. Can you imagine a 1973 Bel Air with a manual trans???

Finding a stock clutch pedal setup for any 1971+ GM B-body would be a challenge. Shown below is a 71 Bel Air with a shot of the column shifter & pedal setup. Note the pedals and the shifter with just one bend. Dad had a 70 Biscayne with a six 3-speed so I was interested back in 1971 when a guy in our neighborhood bought a brand new 71 Biscayne with a 250 3-speed. He eventually traded it in 1975 for a new Caprice hardtop sedan.

As I have said, I have never seen a full size 1971+ Pontiac with a 3-in-the-tree but I have heard of a 71 Catalina coupe that was built with a 400 3-in-the-tree (check out High Pontiac Performance from 1997, not sure which issue).

back in the early 90 s.
i had a 1981 C 10 with a six and tree on the tree and there a weird feeling with the colum shift and the ignition lock ......and the wear of both it was stiffer than my 65 with the ignition switch that is not related to the colum

Would love to see some pics of this car, if anybody is planning on checking it out.  There will probably never be another opportunity to see this combination, given its rarity and unlikeliness of many surviving to this day.

i took out the Bel Air last night for its first run this summer ( it needed a starter ) and i have a bad knee that s really stiff that should be operated in AUgust

we took the country roads and i was driving it like a 10 Wheeler ....with out using the clutch....

I want to wake this old thread back up. I remember several years ago seeing posted pics of said Laurentian. It was white with blue interior and quite neglected. Fast forward to 2022. The car is now wearing custom paint and halo headlights. It still has the Chevy truck alloy wheels that were on it when we saw it years ago.

This is still the only 1971/72 Canadian big Pontiac I have heard of with a 6, and only the 2nd '71 Pontiac with a 3-speed on the column.
