I was able to drive both my Catalina and 2+2 back to back before the first snow, very different driving experience. Even though my 2+2 has a much bigger front bar the Catalina felt like a much more substantial car with a more solid feeling body structure. The 2+2 was much lighter feeling and more nimble. It actually felt more like an intermediate car. I'll weigh both of them next spring, I'll bet there is a several hundred pound difference. The cat has a 428 and AC so just there is probably almost 300 pounds. Also the Pontiac frame is much sturdier looking with a deeper and wider cross sections and an extra cross member, the chevy frame looks a lot like the A body frames of that era except for the front suspension which doesn't use the typical double A arm system.
