1968 Grande Parisienne

Good day. I am new to this site so please let me know if I am doing anything wrong. I have a 1968 Grande Parisienne 2dr hardtop. It came to Armstrong BC with around 5000 miles on it from Vancouver. I bought it off the gentleman who bought it from a dealer here in Armstrong so I guess I am the third owner. It has the 275 hp 327 with the turbo 400 transmission. I sent all the info to GM Canada vintage division and they told me that it is rarer than a 396 Parisienne with turbo 400 for 1968. They said there were 1316 396/turbo 400 cars made and only 1312 with the 275hp 327/turbo 400 cars in 68. The car is all original with the exception of some body parts that were changed due to an accident. First of all I am wondering if anyone can give me a value  for the car. Car runs and drives good, dash and interior  good shape . a few cracks in vinyl on doors. It has had at least one repaint. The owner before me painted it and had a small amount of rust repair done on bottom of rear quarters. I have collector plates on it now. My problem is I'm not sure if it is worth more in original condition or should I make the car a bit more of a muscle car. I always wanted a muscle car so I am torn between making the parisienne into a muscle car or selling it and getting something already done up. Any info would be appreciated. Thanks for your time.

Welcome to the group......Lots of good people and information here.

You really need to post some pics.....before anybody can ballpark a value...

1300 cars is NOT rare....not even CLOSE......Just visualize 1300 of anything....in a group or row...

Canadian Pontiacs are kind of a "fringe car"......We ALL really like them......but they are NOT usually big dollar cars....simply because the values are NOT driven by the US market..

Around here....it seems that big block cars are MORE desirable than small blocks....regardless of their rarity....

A small block factory 4 speed would be a different story..,..JMO

Sounds like a nice car

market value and insurance values are quite different     Car can probably run from  7-12,000

If you want a nice classic, cruiser   then add e.g.  some rims or dual exhaust  to personalize it

If you want a Muscle Car then buy a smaller car with a bigger engine!!

we need photos

Welcome, Downtownbrown, your 68 sounds sweet. And 1300 made, when you look at the big production picture is rare in my books. How many survive and are roadworthy today?

I see this thread is in the General 58-64 Full Size Forum. Can one of the moderators move it to the appropriate forum?
