That's my old car. He's added power steering & disc brakes, I sold him a bunch of the stuff for the upgrades. He's also painted the engine and also the inner fenders, etc.

When Hillar had it they referred to it as The Green Monster.   When I had it I preferred calling it the 454 Laurentian.

Here it is for sale again.  It's funny how some cars keep making the rounds on kijiji/ebay.  Clint, is there something about the car that made you not want to keep it, or was it just a case of too many irons in the fire?  I'm not trying to pry, just trying to understand the phenomenon whereby some of the Canadian Pontiacs that are rare and should be desirable don't seem to hang with one owner for too long.

Reminds me also of the white 4-speed '66 GP that went through a few owners on this board.  I thought that was one of the coolest, yet it was sold like 3 times in a couple of years.

That said, I'd love to have this one, but just not in the position to plunk down the cash at the moment.

I'd retired from my profession, and had 4 x 70 Pontiac's, plus my 72 GMC.  I would have liked to keep it, but one had to go.

Understood.  Wasn't trying to pry, it just perplexes me sometimes that certain cars seem to be sold a lot more than others.  Probably just coincidence and circumstances, rather than any real trend, I guess.  Thanks for your post.

Hillar owned the car for more than a  decade. If he hadn't died he still would.

Stunning beautiful car, especially for that low figure. This just further convinces me that the market in Canada really tanks. You have to sell your car to Americans or certain parts of Europe.

I can only imagine what it is like parking this with no power steering.

Puts the term "Armstrong Steering" into perspective!

Great car, have admired it from when it went up at Hillar's estate sale.

Lots of history there, to be sure!

True on both counts. All of the best cars that were for sale in my area have been sold primarily into the US with the benefit of the US exchange rate, or to Scandinavian countries.

Power steering is for sissies!

Did Hillar add the cruise? Seems to me I remember reading something about it going on a trip and having a factory cruise setup in it.

It was a bear to park with no power steering, but otherwise not a problem.    The cruise was one of the few factory options.  It didn't work when I got the car, but I changed all the vacuum hoses, then finally the control unit.  It then worked perfectly.

Is that one of the 3 options he is describing in the ad?

No suspension package? Or did F40 come with the LS4?
