68 Beaumont 396 rag - any info??

Anyone have any info or memories of this 68 Beaumont 396 rag in Stratford, Ont??

Story goes that is was used as a Pace Car (don't know where) for a GM promotion.

Numbers matching all there car but needs resto top to bottom. I am not in love with the colour combo and the auto tranny . I passed on for those reasons . All and all it would be a good car to do

Yes, we certainly need to know more.
It was only a little more than a week ago that GMVVS released the document.

How do they know it's the first ?

Does the Vintage Services determine that ?

My 2+2 is a very early built car and I'd love to know how early.

Yes, on the document, it's in very tiny print if you look closely.

The pics match the colour codes on the GMVVS paper. Both interior and exterior. So good chance this is the same car. Plus only 65 of this model number built so how many would be these colour codes?
From the documents and checking in the Catalog of CDN car ID Numbers book this appears to be the 715th Beaumont built for 1968. That would be consistent with the September 28th build date

Not every report from GMVVS goes into the detail like " 1st Pontiac Beaumont built........" so they must have taken extra time and shown extra interest in this one"

Do you have the GMVVS documents for your car?

Now as an aside and just to stir things up did anyone notice George calls it a " Pontiac Beaumont"? twice.

Wow... it would be hard to turn down.  For the record, I really like the colour combo as it's really unique.  Pretty much guaranteed to never see one again.

I'm hoping my lottery tickets will work out for me this weekend (lol), you never know... smile

Pretty sure I won't be, unless there are some huge strides in medical science in the next couple of decades.  But if that happens there will be bigger problems to work out than what brand to call a car, more like what do we do with all these people who can live to 150 now??? wink
