Hurst Shifter Handle Wanted

Does anyone have an old crusty Hurst shifter handle that fits the shifter the way this one does?

Please note, this is not the common style that attaches to the shifter body with 2 bolts. That style is everywhere but does me no good. The bottom of this handle is part of the shifter mechanism. I want to find an old handle this style and cut it off just above the body, then attach a stock GM 1966 style shifter handle with the reverse lockout trigger. That way I can have a stock appearing shifter in the car, with the Hurst shifter actually doing the work.

I"m going the same route with my conversion..Hurst shifter with the stock looking handle.

Fortunately having a console, the shifter handle is straight and there are a number of aftermarket companies who make stock looking handles that can be bolted to the Hurst shifter.

If I didn't have such a nice low mile Hurst I'd look for a different shifter with the removable handle. This shifter was a great find and I'm pretty bent on using it.

I don't understand how it installs . I have had  10-12 vehicles with Hurst shifters and sold many many shifters and handles at work

I can't find any other handle but a 2 bolt .     need explaining .

The fixed handle ones were older, maybe 80's and older? My corvette had one of those shifters.

I have the correct 66 bench seat handle but I hate to cut this Hurst handle, it's in beautiful shape and not easy to find in that condition.

I'm hoping to find a crappy one the same design (at the bottom I mean) and cut it up. If I can find a handle to cut, I don't care what shape it is above the shifter but it has to fit my shifter.

Do you think that's how mine looks inside Ian? I have spent a lot of time reading and I thought it looked different than that. If that is the part I need, then it's a simple swap, thank you!

I guess I'll take my shifter apart and see how it's made.

Ok, that's weird, my reply is on the right side in post above, not underneath like it normally is.

I need to talk to you about it on Tuesday night. Sounds like you have some knowledge on it.

I may bring my shifter along.

What does this do? I just watched a rebuild video and don't see anything like it in there.

I watched a couple of rebuild videos. I'm not sure I want to rip it apart tomorrow night, but I'll bring it!

I may wait until I get the "adapter" you showed and do it all at once.

Ya I would not take apart until you do the conversion . Good way to lose parts if you do.

Looks like the same bayonet mount in my 80 T/A. Most 2nd gen F-bodies used that style of stick.
