Convertible Top Pump Motor

When I restored the interior to my '69 2+2 convertible, I replaced all the parts in the convertible top system with new parts, including an NOS switch. The top has been in the down position for 3 years and thought I would put it up and take it for a drive today. I pushed the switch in the "up" position and nothing...no sound from the pump motor. Push it in the "down" position and I can hear the pump motor. It was all working 3 years ago. I am thinking the switch, even though it was NOS. Any other ideas? Thanks.

I'd say it's the switch. Mine often seems to have a loose connection where it connects to the harness, give that a try first.

Thanks Clint. Loose brown wire in the harness. I could push it further in the plug and that did it! So glad it wasnt the switch! Had a nice sunny day drive today!

. The top manufacturers claim that the top should always have tension on it except when you want to use it.  Can lead to shrinkage and permanent wrinkles. So keep it up when not using the car.
