I wonder what his source is for what exists.... more rare cars pop up every week...

Projects cars like this are funny... the cost to restore exceed the final price... so what's this worth? $2-3k?

Get it for free and you will have to much in it.

seems it's just easier to put out $50,000 over 5 - 10 years then spend $40,000 in one shot

What's the deal with this vendor?
And what does he mean by only 258 made and 30 documented?
Referring to'67 SD Beaumonts in general or a certain HP ?
I know there were 451 SD Beaumonts made in '67, but other numbers I don't know about.

Hmm, drive to Barrie to view it before the seller talks about price. All they are willing to allude to is that it is not cheap. By the looks of things it better be, otherwise I guess they really don't want to sell it.

Basically anyone wanting to restore it would build it around the firewall & cowl tag, plus the A-pillar. If you catch my drift...

The rear trim is pretty well unobtainable. The rear should be a 12-bolt with either 2.73, 3.07 or 3.31 gearing depending on whether it is an L35 or L34, plus whether it is a Powerglide or TH400.

That turquoise convertible in the background, isn't that the same derelict both-feet-in-the-grave 67 Beaumont 732-series we have seen before?

So if there were a total of 451 SD's made in '67 and 251 of them were the L34 350 HP engine, wouldn't that make the L35 325 HP engine rarer and more desirable even though it's a lower horsepower rating?

I don't know if this person is older and by older I mean a guy in his late 70's but I got this guy that age, a real dreamer going too. I inquired about a car he had for sale in 2009 for $10,000, you know a $4,000 project car. Needs everything. He told me he wants $20,000 for it now because he's had 10 years storage fees. I show him fully restored models going for $12,000 to $15,000 and he readily admits car needs $30,000 to $50,000 to make it good. Its worse than dealing with my mother-in-law.  Reality is he should be paying someone to come and take the car away.

Looks like the owner has been pushing around this rare/pricey SD around his yard with a bulldozer. It's a wonder it hasn't crumpled more.disbelief

I think the buckled quarter panel and the way the bumper is pulled out gives an idea of the structural integrity of this car.  I think it's a stretch to even call it a parts car, as I'm sure was the line of thinking from the person who pulled the drivetrain.

Honestly, even if I had a ton of money, a well-equipped shop, and plenty of hours of free time to work on it, you couldn't even pay me to take it.  Strip whatever left is useful and crush the rest before it becomes somebody's fraud project - the car is dead.
