Rochester 2bbl 2gc question

hello,

by repairing my 7012452 rochester carb I found that this connection was open (photo), the one top left above the 2 idle mix screws.

Wonder what is normally connected to it ?

if some of you experts can help please ?

The carb is mounted on a 1958 Laurentian.

Thank you in advance

Magnus

Thank you both very much for the help, much appreciated !

I have a modern electronic ignition system installed that's why this port is not connected what I was not aware of.

What documentation do you recommend in case I run in similar situations like this to help my self ?

What I have is a Pontiac 1958 Maintanance Manual Series 7000 but that is not very detailed, is something only available ?

Thank you and best regards

Magnus

What electronic system do you have? If its vacuum driven, you would connect it to this port. If not vacuum driven, you should close this port. Post a pic of your distributor.

I have a stock distributor converted to electronics with a Pertronics, it uses vacuum.

Didn't you hear the vacuum leak from that port?
