'59 and '60 Owners, a radio question

Hello Everyone.

Removed radio from '59 Laurentian to give it a going over (plays - intermittently) and will add Bluetooth. Tiny little Bluetooth modules available from China for just a few dollars. Minimally invasive, will remain an AM tube radio when not paired with phone / I-Pad.

Do your cars have that shiny trim piece (see picture - sitting on dash over radio opening) around the front of the radio? Almost looks unnatural to me..

The poor rusty '59 I had as a 14 year old in Winnipeg (see profile picture) had an aftermarket Marconi tube radio fitted shortly after purchase. There was no shiny trim piece there and it looked nicer, more natural.

What are your cars like?

Please, and thank you.

Robert

Yes, that trim piece is supposed to be there, but I agree with you it looks strange, especially on "lower range" models. My Parisienne has a bright aluminium trim the whole width of the dash, so that trim looks less out of place somewhat. Here's mine:
