Kijiji Alberta; 1969/70 Single Caliper disc brakes, complete.

Kijiji Edmonton,

Here's a very rare single piston setup that doesn't come along often.

If you'd ever thought to convert your 65-70 B to Disc from Drum, this is what you need to start. And the price is certainly right. Wow! If I were closer I'd snag them up in a second.

Will be taking a set off from the 70 that I'm parting out. Clint has spoken for them. About the same money.

It's a good deal, but see if you can get him to mic the rotors. As you know, the rotors are the tough component to find as they're long obsolete. Shipping is also expensive.

One of the calipers is also a bit of a challenge to find, but I can't remember if it's the left or right.

is it possible to have the calipers sleeved with stainless steel inserts. I did mine about 30 years ago and are still fine. are the rotors not separate from the hub?

You can apparently get the rotor for these 2 piece items now Clint. But they will also take a Vette rotor. Which is really cheap. You can still see the wear line on the one pictured (which doesn't tell the whole story).

Cliff, I think I'd just do seals if the pistons and bores are still good. They are single piston.

There is a rotor available to fit the disc brake hub, but they're a bit pricey.  I used them on my convertible when I did the steering, suspension & brakes last year.

As you know, Corvette rotors can be used with drum brake hubs - I did that on my Parisienne a few years ago.

I have a disc brake set up off of a 69 or 70 Caprice. Been so long since I put them in the shed I forget. I would consider selling them as well. I wanted $250 for them. I am in Prince Albert Sask. we have a decent network here to move parts throughout the province.

You have to be quick draw McGraw on these parts.

Let me tell you, these took a heck of lot of back and fourth to get. Bonus is I have all the stuff to do this. Negative, they're really heavy and so far away.

We might do a road trip next June...to Yellowknife! Via Morris.

Perfect. Let me know.

If we aren't here, you can stop in and visit us at the cabin. It's only 6 miles off the Trans Canada Hwy and we have extra room there too. The scenery at that motel is beautiful....
