Beaumont/Chevelle club is coming to an end?

I was visiting my friend with the Beaumonts today and he was telling me the club is being dissolved?

He said they had a meeting last night, there is nobody willing to take it over so it's being shut down. Has anyone else heard that?

And I see on the website it's confirmed as well-

"The Club was dissolved at a members meeting January 27, 2019. R. Pawlas"

I hadn't heard that the club was ending, but after recently getting an e-mail from President Don Earnshaw that he is facing major health issues, I wondered about the fate of the club. I have the membership form right on my desk and would have sent in the renewal any day.

Such a shame. Don is a really nice guy. The club magazine is nice, a vanishing thing in the Internet age.

Joined back in about 1997 but after a number of years I let my membership lapse.
They were very helpful on more than a few occasions.

Ya i was a member from about 1999 to 2009,  then let it lapse.  I was a frequent contrubutor back then, and there are alot of great people and was a great magazine.  Lost touch with all of them over the last 10 years or so.

Canadian Classic Chevelles & Beaumonts. I think it was based on Vancouver Island, but I'd occasionally see member jackets here in Calgary.

It's a shame that somebody won't step up and take it over, but it's not unusual for a few people to do a lot of work to benefit the many and when they can no longer do the work it falls apart.

Had that happen many years ago when I helped run the local Mopar club.  We did it for a number of years and had some changes in our lives that made it difficult to keep running it.  When we asked the membership for help, nobody stepped up so we folded the club.  I guess they didn't really want it that badly.

Much like this site, with Todd doing the majority of the work in maintaining it and keeping the bills paid, along with help from the mods to keep things civil.  We really should remember to appreciate all they do to keep this site going... it is really the best Canadian Pontiac site on the whole internet!
