Wheel back spacing / offset

I have been thinking about getting some fancy wheels for my 68 Grande and I like the American Racing toque thrust wheels. I currently have 7 inch x 15 Pontiac Ralleys on it with 235 70 15 in the front and 255 60s on the back.  I like the size of these wheels, they look ok but I have a hankering for a Torque Thrust wheel.  Not sure if I should get 15's or 16's.  The offset and  backspacing specs on these wheels also make me scratch my head.

I am just wondering if anyone would care to comment on what I need for offset / backspacing and whether I shoild have 7 inch on the front and 8 inch on the back or just go with 8 inch all around? I know there are a few B Bodies on the forum with fancy wheels so hoping some one can comment and offer up some info/opinions!

Thanks, Jake

I'm running 17 x 8 Torque thrusts with 4.5 bs all around. I think 17's are the perfect size on the big car. Adds just a hint of modern while still looking retro. Got them at a car show in SC for $175 each! If I did it again I'd like to try a custom or 5.5" backspace with a 10" on the back, to try to slip a wider tire behind that skirt. No more outside room with the 8" 4.5 with the 235.

Running 235/55/17 (27.2" diameter, not too low profile) Firestone Indy 500's all round, which is actually kind of good, as the front can move back when the rears go bald. The 500 has been a great tire BTW.

You cant argue with the look of Marks car.

I went with 15 inch Torque Thrusts and Mickey Thompsons

15x7 245/60s on the front and,

15x8 265/60s on the rear.

Bought mine on-line but don't remember where, in late August 2017.

Ordered for "Impala" for back spacing.

You can get some real good deals this time of the year, anywhere you go.
