Bump

Back seat and trunk loaded with parts from my storage unit that I had to give up.

No flea markets in the near future.

Make an offer on the trunk full and the back seat if you are doing flea markets.

Well these are sort of tough words but you probably already know this, when it is priced what buyers think is right it will sell. I think in some ways buyers back off on a higher price if it could actually be bought for 20% less. I would rather price close to what I want and even say firm for the buyer to know exactly where Im at. Im sure what will be difficult for you is the attachment you have to the car after all these years. Need to find that person who has the same passion for the car like you have plus a few dollars.

Why not list it on Bring a Trailer? It seems to be the best place to sell a car these days.

Europe is (or was) a good market for North American cars. After its restoration, a 63 Impala 2 dr ht that I used to own was sold in Norway at a good price for the seller to whom I sold it Also a local 66 Bonneville wagon that I decided not to buy about 5 years ago was subsequently sold to Europe at a good profit to the seller.  Same for parts: I got a lot more for a 68 Pontiac bumper by selling it into Norway than I could have ever gotten for it in Canada or the US.

So international marketing may be worth a try.

I spoke to a neighbour to day who had two cars for sale for over two years, both nice ones, 1980 Malibu 383 really done nice and a 1966 Biscayne post, dry southern car with a 350 crate like Cliff's and 4 speed. It took over two years to sell them. Reality is its not easy to unload these old cars.

Definitely the hot 'online' ticket today....and...US$$$$.

Hemmings has also started their auction.

Sorry to say Cliff but if you want that kind of money it will have to go stateside, not a difficult scenario for a US resident,

I have sold several to US buyers with no problems.

That's about right. It took me over two years to sell my mint California 63 Catalina 2 dr ht, and the fellow who has it now has been trying to sell it for a lot more than I wanted for it for three years now without success.

Cliff, maybe being so close to the US border will help in your effort to sell your car. I hope so. I know that the very best cars that were for sale in my province in the last five years have almost all sold in the US, many of them through the big, established collector car auctions.

Very true on the US market. Spent last Wednesday evening with a good friend of mine who sold his 67 Chevelle into New York last year. I'm guessing he had it for sale for a year or so but pulled $90,000 for it. To me it was one of the nicest Chevelles out there. Had to wait for the right guy who appreciated the car he had.

Covid 19 has thrown a " monkey wrench" into everything!! With borders closed no American can come to see it & you can't take it across unless you have it shipped by commercial carrier, so your pretty well "pooched" on USA unless you get a buyer willing to go by pictures & video!!! Maybe next year if economy doesn't TANK then we'll all be stuck with "garage ornaments"

You are right of course. Crossing the border in the near future and into 2021 is probably unlikely.

My health has been steadily improving an I am now able to walk WITHOUT the Walker although I do at times revert to my ski poles for longer walks.  My licence is still under suspension and today I ordered the Drivers Handbook to bring me up to date.  Have a phone consultation with my doctor on 31st and will be discussing my license situation..

Fingers and toes crossed.

Twice a week at The Abilities Centre in whitby has been a big help with a personal trainer.

So yes it's for sale until my licence comes back.

It

Yippeeeee!

Licence reinstated on Wed.

Impala hasn't moved in a long time and may not move till spring.

Cant see me firing it up for just a couple of days.  Tires are soft and need air.

My 2012 Hyundai Accent will be my daily driver and took it in for service.  LOF, Cabin air filter,  free up gas tank filler cable.

Needs rear shocks ordered from Rock Auto.

Disc brake rotors rusted up but pads still good.... will just have to listen to pulsating rotors for now.

Will now be able to get to Abilities Centre more often to plot my progress  and beat up on the Monkey.
