I hesitate to say this because so many guys on here promote urethane bushings but it's nothing but stock bushings for me. I love the cushy response out of stock bushings. I have no desire to have a "firm" ride, the stock ride is just fine with me.
(I sometimes get bashed when I say this ^^^^^).......
As far as them lasting longer? I'm over 60. If the originals went 50 years or so and I replace them with stock bushings, what are the odds I will need to replace them again............

I had to make this decision very recently with my gorgeous daily driver. I reasoned that, although they would no doubt improve it's ability on the road, the car was already far more capable than myself!
I also figured, if they had very little give, that they would transfer loads to the surrounding structure which could result in crippling repair costs. My favourite experts agreed, so original parts were fitted.
There was a fly in the ointment however. The bushes are not available separately so new arms are required - and - they don't last more than 10,000 miles, partly due to the bl%%dy pot holes!
I did the rear uppers and lowers on my 64 wagon. I would agree. rides too harsh now. i would not do it again. A rear sway bar on the other hand is a huge benifit

I am pretty sure the UMI bars I put in have urethane bushings, they do give you a couple packages of silicone grease to lube them with prior to installation, mine seem fine but never drove car without them.

Exactly.
