Still plugging away at my '57, where has the summer gone? Really hoping to be driving yet this season, so close I can almost taste it.
Does anyone have part number/source for the rad hoses for a '57 261 six cylinder? Managed to find one that kind of worked for the upper from a local Napa place, just had to cut one elbow off of it to get it to fit more or less right. Don't have a lower yet though. Going to work on the car at my buddy's farm today & if I can source something suitable, I may actually be able to take it for a ride around the yard (for probably the first time since the 80's by my calculation!). I'll see if a generic ribbed one might fit...
If all goes well, I may be bringing this gem home to my place the city soon enough - much easier to work on when it's not an hour away.
Brakes will be finished today, new sending unit/fuel pickup installed too hopefully. Tons of other work is complete & won't be long now until I'm up and running on the road!

I'd think a hose from a 57 Chevy w 235 engine would be the same. I just took a glance at Rock Auto, and it came up with a couple part #'s: AC Delco 22002M & Gates 20145.
Take a look at them to see if they'll work, then possibly order them locally or utilize our Rock Auto discount.
For the record, I would stay away from those ribbed hoses, especially on old rads. If you think of it, you kind of have to force it into position. It's always trying to return to the shape it was (usually straight) before you installed it, so it's putting pressure on the sleeve that is soldered to the rad. I've seen those old rads leak at the neck/sleeve with that ribbed hose and there's a good chance that's why it let go.

Like our C.P. brother Clint said, 1957 Chevrolet 235 six cylinder reproduction rad hoses are 100 % identical to 1957 (Canadian) Pontiac 261 inline six rad hoses. Both upper and lower. Dead nuts.
