2-1/2" Ram Horns Needed

Trying to track down a set of 2-1/2" exhaust manifolds to fit my 283.  In case you think I'm crazy, here's why.  I'm getting some work done to it, bored .040"; Melling CCS37 cam; 520 Power Pack heads; 4GC carb.  I was looking for 2" exhaust all the way through, don't want 1-7/8" tail pipes.  Magnaflow currently have a sale on until the end of the week for a stainless steel dual exhaust system but it's 2-1/2" , they don't make it in 2" at any price, so I would need new manifolds or modify the pipe to fit my 2".  The casting numbers I need are 3797942 AND 3797901.  The only place I can find that has them is Classic Industries but I need something cheaper.  Anyone have a set?  Any suggestions, would be much appreciated.  I even called Dorman but they don't have 2-1/2" manifolds, at least the guy I spoke to couldn't find any.

I just bought a repro pair in Australia, cheap as chips here so in North America must be nearly free! The pair I bought had no alternator mount though which is what I wanted.

Lots of the part #'s you want on ebay, as well as the Dorman #'s. Any local parts store should be able to get the Dorman ones for you.

I just recently received my Magnaflow kit and it is 2" at the headers, opening up to 2 1/2" after one bend and about 10" of 2". I have centre dumps.

Would you like pics?

Sorry, but as Don mentioned, I need centre discharge due to the X-frame.  Thanks for the pics, someone else may want them.

Interesting, you would have thought they would have told me that when I called.  What SKU # did you order? I ordered the exhaust and it is expected to arrive the 3rd week of Nov.

I have seen that on other factory exhaust pipes for GM as well. Some of the 60's big blocks are like that too, a 2 1/2" pipe but it starts off smaller.

Interesting Carl, thanks!  64PARCONUK and I seem to have ordered sku 16724, so it looks like I may be able to use my factory rams after all:)  I'll cool my jets until the system arrives in a couple of weeks.

I'd like to thank 64PARCONUK for letting me know Magnaflow's 2.5" exhaust system is 2" at the manifold, saved me quite a few bucks!!!  As you can see in the photo Magnaflow started with 2", then 2.25" and finally 2.5"  Now it's time to clean up the original manifolds and then install new studs.2.5 Exhaust fits 2 Manifold.jpg
