Hi... Can someone take a picture of the "white image" in the glass that is present on all the windows, has the date code, manufacturer. I need a 65 66 67 CANADIAN built cars only...Pontiac or Chev, preferably an Oshawa car
Checked my 65 Parisienne CS hdtp ( 53,xxx miles ) but wasn't able to get a pic of the codes. Storage building is dark and with or without flash it just wouldn't show up. Perhaps next spring when car is out of storage.
However, I was able to read the codes on the 6 side windows. All 6 panes are the same codes. Couldn't get at windshield or rear window.
*DCL*
ARMOURLITE ( yes the Canadian spelling with the U )
SAFETY
AS2-M21
What I found interesting is the right vent window and right passenger window read from the outside. While the other 4 read from the inside.
Hope this helps. If you prompt me next spring I'll check the windshield and rear window and perhaps be able to snap a pic.
Ted
I cannot help with a picture, but incase it is of any assistance I started down this rabbit trail on my car's glass earlier this year, and found some great information resources, this was probably the best one:
1970 Formula 400 Carousel Red on black (std) interior "no drivetrain option" car (same base drivetrain as GTO) 1:411 1970 Firebird Formulas originally sold in Canada
Here are pictures from 3 different windows and yes, mine is an Oshawa car (built October 66). I had to place a board as background for the white to stand out. I hope this helps.
A number of years ago, we got looking at possibly when the Canadian built cars transitioned from DCL to LOF. We found a 66 Acadian that had LOF, but our B-body cars were still DCL up to and likely past my 1970 cars.
Here's DCL from the 70 454 Laurentian I had (car assembled in October 1969):
