Help needed. What kind of critter is pooping on my engine cover?

every night for last week something is getting in to the engine compartment and pooping on the cover. Moved the car out to the road and it still found it and continues to do it . Found some small white hairs and once there was dirt and a worm left also?. Any ideas and what to do about it? 50C2E24E-61A2-4483-8A2B-9FA67226ED8E.pngF6DD703D-610B-46D2-9DDD-0D2F2EE666FD.png

Wow something that has some size to it. Pretty big dumps. We will have to get John (Striper) to analyze it. He works for a pest control company now.

Where are you located? It could be a marmot.

Well, it's not rats, even though they're common in Victoria. Maybe a squirrel with irritable bowel syndrome. :)

I am thinking it is a marmot judging by the coarse short hair shown in the picture plus the poop is to big for a rat or squirrel.

If it's a marmot, you'll have to live trap it. Use some apple pieces. or carrot to lure it. Then take it for a drive.

I'm thinking Koon also. Maybe put some flour on the intake cover and get some prints? Then we can arrest the bastard for trespassing!
