Canadian (Oshawa) paint codes???

Hi.... Does anyone know if the paint codes were different for a Canadian versus USA built  car?  Did Oshawa have different names for the GM colours for their paint?

THANKs in advance

Canada codes are generally a letter,  US codes are usually 3 digits.  most color charts will show both

sometimes color names were different in canada,  it all depends on what colors in what years.

for example:

dark blue on 64s in canada was diplomat blue but in the US it was daytona blue

there was also different names for white on 58 chevys, canada was Dover white,  USA was snowcrest and arctic white

What years are you speaking about?    I have the paint chips for 1970, and each division (Chevrolet, Buick, Oldsmobile, Pontiac) called the same color something different.  Same colors were used in USA vs Canada.

I know for my old 1957 Chevrolet, some colors were the same USA vs Canada (but maybe called something else) but there were also colors unique to a specific country.   If I recall, for my old Atlanta built car, its Dusk Pearl color was not available in Canada, even under another name.

All of the above can apply in varying years as GM didn't follow a rigorous pattern through the years.
Can you be more specific as to the colour and year you're asking about?

In 69 they used the American Pontiac names for the colors applied on Canadian Pontiac's but most of them were the same codes as the chevy equivalents anyhow.

Yes, Ermine White (C) on US-built cars is the same color as Provincial White for Canadian-built cars.

Thanks to Carl (CdnL79 Registry) at Steve's Nova Site for providing that information to me a few months ago.

In our Canadian registry, "C" was Emine from '60 till the '66 year when it became Provincial.

We had Ermine white on local GMH cars in Australia, used until 1971 from memory.

Hi.... I was very surprised that documentation called this colour Provincial white. I was not aware that GM of Can used their own names for paint
