Tire clearance


This is on my 65 canso sd. 
have correct rubbers on. One side is good other is tight and rubs Fender ever so slightly.  Can that be adjusted and how does one adjust that if you can?

Rim backspacing. Do you know what your rim has for bs? Does your fender have the lower support brace on it???

Thats the front of each side. I dont recall what the back spacing was but I thought I had checked it they were correct.

The driver side is good. Sorry but I should have rotated the pictures. 
195/70R14 is tire size. 
odd that one side is fine.

Just a thought, but have a look where your A frames attach to the body. May need shimming to move wheel ahead a bit. An alignment would be needed....

 My 65 Canso SD had the same issue. When I got the car it was extremely original, 1 owner car, 43,000 miles. As soon as I put on a 6" rim the tire rubbed at the front on one side.

So Timbuk, I measured center to center and it was 110 (which is correct) on the clear side and 110.5 on the tight side. That half inch would do it. Is there a way to adjust that?

 Ok, it's the front wheel on each side.    Is it rubbing on the forward part of the wheel opening, or the rear?

That's the forward part. The bolt head you can see is the bolt that holds the small brace to that supports the bottom of the fender.

When mine did this I put a small adjustable spring jack in each front spring and cranked it up ever so slightly. That totally eliminated the problem

I just made up a "new" longer fender brace. Think it was about 3/8 longer. Solved my rub problem and no one has ever noticed......
