Hmmm. I just called the local Speedy Glass in Calgary, 69 Chevelle 2 door hardtop non-antenna double tinted (green tint with blue sunshade across top).
Available at $430 installed.
When I changed the windshield in the 66 a few years ago, finding the windshield itself was not the problem. It did take a half dozen phone calls to find someone willing to install it though. Nobody wanted to touch that old stuff, or, if it wasnt an insurance claim, they werent interested.
Years ago when non-popular windshields were not in stock at the chain shops like Speedy, they would order it in from their warehouse or supplier with little or no extra cost. Do they not do that anymore? If Speedy in Alberta can get one, why couldn't a Speedy shop do the same in Ontario?
The guy who does my windshields for me here in Kelowna is able to get all these windshields and I don't find them expensive at all. He does ton of these old cars plus lots of hot rods. He isn't even a member of a franchise but has a busy shop. Good guy.

I imagine you've tried this already, though.
That's what the Speedy shop I called was doing. They just get it from their warehouse, usually takes 2-3 days to get it in. He double checked, it was in stock. Same shop has done 2 windshields on my 1970 cars. Just sounds like there's none to be had for this gent in Ontario.

Thanks for the info, I wasn't sure that they still worked that way as it's been years since I've had to replace a windshield (knock on wood).
With Covid supply chain issues it might be more difficult to get stuff like this, though I would have thought with Ontario being the most populous province in the country and being somewhat centralized, that most of the major warehouses would be located there. Also, I would have thought that Speedy would have a stock transfer system whereby an Ontario shop could get one from Alberta (assuming the warehouse your shop checked was actually located in Alberta).
I have one ordered through speedy in Kingston Ontario. $289,00 cash and carry. Big Thank you to everyone, This forum rocks. I will post some more pictures of progress real soon. Randy
Yes, I had called every shop except speedy... duh. just assumed if standard and discount glass and a handful of independent glass shops didn't have then speedy probably didn't.
