Longshot. And a question about brokers.

And a Ford request....

My Brother in law is looking for a new 21 or 22 Ford F-350 or 250. XL or XLT, 8 or 6.75' box, Prefer diesel, but would settle for gas. Must be the large Crew cab.

He would also accept a GMC 2500 in a similar spec.

He's in the NWT, and needs it down here for a 3-4 year geological project in Timmins, and is stymied by the lack of product. It's not surprising, we all know the state the industry is in.

Any leads appreciated. Perhaps you guys might know of one hidden away somewhere at your local dealers, or seen some in your travels? I'll go into Manitoba or Quebec to get one for him.

Thanks, Mark

I remember back during the last slump, I think it was back in 2007 or so where people were using Brokers and it seemed to be a viable route to take.

Is this a worthy way of tracking a unit down?

Did he go to the Ford website and "build" one to spec? After you do that you get asked if you'd like to find the dealers have the same (or very similar) models. You can usually play around with postal codes etc to check dealers farther away.

I quickly built a 22 F250 4x4, gas, crew cab with 6 3/4 box and did a dealer search within 150kms for a similar model. I got these two:

I don't think he did Todd. Thanks, I'll try that.

Funny thing is he's found a F-350 in Yellowknife, where he lives. But not practical to get it to Timmins.

Hey! I know! I'll fly out and drive it back!

He's covered albert. They have housing and a building in Holtyre.

On the build and locate Todd. I'm seeing trucks on the inventory that I've already called about and are not on the lot. According to the sales staff, Ford Canada alone apparently populates these lists according to trucks ordered. But it's seems a good way to find a lead on one page. I'll keep calling tomorrow and have the salesmen on the other end roll their eyes at me.

Sounds something like I did in 2016 to find my son a truck. He wanted a certain colour, long box, 5L engine and a few other things.
Ford was not making any more 2016's so with him working I took a week and looked every were on the internet and phoned
until I found the right one 100km north of Saskatoon (we live outside of Vancouver). We flew out, they meet us at the airport
and we drove back to BC. Cost of truck, flying out and gas he ended up paying $1000 less over all.

So the point is don't give up, the deals are out there.

Thanks Brian. I'm sure there's more than a few out there. Just takes some leg work.

Try Guays Garage in Val Gagne..... between Timmins and Holtyre (sort of)
Not sure how current the site is but they list a 2022 F250 XLT diesel at $80k

Thanks Ted! If legit, this would be right where he'll be. Couldn't be more convenient.

I'll let him know
