Anybody into 76 Firebirds

STREET FEATURE
This Big-Block Pro-Street '76 Pontiac Stands Out In A Crowd!

A multi-time World of Wheels winner, this 1976 Firebird was constructed in the early 1980s. Since completion it has only been driven about 200-250 miles and still looks like it's show-ready. This bird is equipped with a Chevrolet 427ci big-block V8 that was given a .030-inch overbore with 10.5:1 CR pistons and features a forged-steel crankshaft, and Lunati forged-steel rods. A Cam Dynamics hydraulic roller camshaft bumps the valves.

Crowning this pro-street F-Body is a Weiand tunnel-ram intake, and a pair of Holley carburetors that is fed fresh air from a Mr.Gasket Street Scoop. Connected to the 427ci lump is a 3,800 rpm stall speed, switch-pitch converter that sends the torque to a Turbo Hydra-Matic 400 three-speed automatic transmission.

The ignition system is controlled by an MSD 6AL box, pro billet distributor, and spark plug wire set. The exhaust fumes flow through long tube headers and Sonic Turbo mufflers, with turndowns ahead of the rear end.

Subframe connectors stiffen the chassis and provide the mounting points for the ladder-bar rear suspension that locates a 12-bolt axle equipped with disc brakes, and wide Weld Draglites with Mickey Thompson Sportsman 31 x 18.5-15 tires that were stuffed into the wheel tubs. The bird runs skinnys up front with 26x7.5-15s.
