Is the 'A-C-A-D-I-A-N' script the same style used on other period Pontiac's?

If "yes" does anyone have pictures of the stud placement on the back side of the "N"?

I have observed that 1960's Pontiac's use either the same, or similar style 'P-O-N-T-I-A-C' script letters, and have a small collection of my own - from which I can check if I have a spare 'N'.

I think the Pontiac letters are slightly smaller or at least the I is, awhile back I compared the two. It was not that noticeable on the panel beside the other letters. There is a difference between 64-65 letters, the one on the right side is 65 Beaumont. There are no mounting studs on 65s the pot metal stud is mushroomed over on the panel. Thats why they are always missing they where out and fall off. The studs are centred horizontally on either leg of the N. see picture of D for stud placement.

 Thanks for looking Kevin, the search continues.

I have had great success with drilling a shallow hole in letter and then use JB weld to fill hole flush to back side of panel, never had one come off yet. I may also look into possibly useing a Pontiac N but will have to find out size first

Lawrence, I am pretty sure I have mentioned it to you too but I have sold 4-5 sets of 64 letters to 65 guys. Everyone was able to use them and was happy with the results. A couple guys paid big as they ended up taking a real nice tail panel from me.

Jarel
I have used 64 letters and ground the ribs to suit the letters in the past and had great success. I have a set of 64 letters but missing the I Like kevin I had a bunch of panels with no letters and have been adding letters to them. This time I filled the seven holes for the regular letters and then drilled in eight new holes. I then painted the panel bright red and the letters will be painted bright white. The panel will read CANADIAN when done.

A script that reads Canadian is what Ive also been hoping to do with a rear panel for my 66 Beaumont.

Ok, so even though I do not have that 1965 specific style lettering, maybe I can still be of some assistance;
I just looked, and I only have a spare "T" - so that's of no use to you...

I grabbed an "N" & "I" from a "P-O-N-T-I-A-C" set to measure them for you;
The "N" measures 0.94" wide and 0.571" tall (at the base)
The "I" measures 0.271" wide and 0.566" tall (at the base)
These are the ones used on 1970 Firebirds, as well as a ton of others;
I have observed that in some instances the stud placement can differ depending on the model, but if you're looking ot complete a set of 1964 letters, and grind off the studs, then maybe that will be of benefit.

I found a vendor at the last(!) Portland Swap meet (which was 2019 for those paying attention) who had a pan full of these letters and had a flat rate per letter - I bought some singles off of him to complete a spare set of letters;
I saw differences, made guesses on what was correct for me, and guessed correctly - I cannot immediately recall the letter/stud differences I observed.

The only way to chase down a full interchange would be to get all the latest printed versions of the different model master parts catalogues, and to compare the part numbers for each year & letter.
