Convertible Top Header Seal

Finally getting around to replacing the header seal for my convertible top.

Not for rain but for wind noise.

With the air leak, the car is quieter with the top down no

It looks like all my other seals were replaced at one time but the header was in bad shape and was probably original.

I found it hard to find this seal alone, most want to sell you the whole set for the roof.

"The Convertible Top Guys" had a "Super Soft" Metro, header seal for a good price.

As I was taking the old seal off, I noticed the the old one may have been installed with a small bead of seal glue.

Possibly when the new top was done.

Should I use the glue that I used for my door seals on the new header seal ?

the proper weather strip seal that you used for the doors & trunk  will be ok for the header strip seal. We sold either 3M or original GM. The GM is 'black' where the 3M is usually 'yellow' . The black leads to a neater job.

 You beat me to it! Yes, buy the GM weatherstrip adhesive for that reason.

That is exactly what I have.

Once it warmed up, the tube did pretty well for being almost two yeas old.
