I wish this was easy to explain! I'll try not to make it confusing.
The correct answer is no, that is not a 65 Canso air cleaner. I believe that is the US version from a Nova.
The correct one for a 65 is determined by whether it's early or late production and I'm afraid I can't tell you the date it changes.
Anyway..........the correct base for an early 65 Canso is identical to an early full size 65 Canadian Pontiac with a 283.
The correct base for a later 65 Canso is the same as a late 65 or any 66 full size Canadian Pontiac with a 283. (Likely Beaumont as well but I didn't check that)
The good news is, the correct lid fits 65-66 Canso 283 and also fits 62-66 full size Canadian Pontiac 283.
Have you marked them to know what came from what? I see the lids are listed as all the same but there's a few different bases. One quirk, a car with factory air shocks uses a different air cleaner!

Thanks thats what I though, its a nova air cleaner I have thats reversed, now I now what Im looking for, trying to build a correct 1965 canso sd bone stock
I'm sure you'll be able to find one from a 65-66 full sized Pontiac which would be correct. V8 Canso's are so rare for 65 the odds of finding parts from one of them aren't very good.
If you want to be 100% we need to figure out your build date and then determine what "early vs. late" actually is for a 65 build. Do you know when your car was built?
