Partsavatar.ca --- Anyone use them?

My 66 happens to be on the hoist right now, so I checked it out against the original and this one looks the same (other than it's much pretty vs. my crusty looking 56 year old tank that's in the car!)

Slap a coat of Por15 on it.  Let sit for a couple of days and wear gloves stuffing it back in place.

Oh no no no, no POR15 on there!!! It's gotta look original. Clean it up real good with alcohol cleaner and a coat of clear on it to preserve it, then some new tar paper under the straps and bolt it in.

Just to get back to the original reason I started this thread, I used partsavatar.ca once again this week and am very impressed. Monday night I ordered a block heater for our son's 2010 Silverado and this morning it arrived via Canada Post, free shipping. Price was cheaper than I could find anywhere, I wanted a Temro heater specifically because I sold them for decades and had very good success with them. Anyway, for me Partsavatar is becoming a good alternative to Rock Auto, and it's as quick or quicker.

Good to know Carl, working on a large order for my 1998 Silverado.

I have seen the bolt in place of the rivet. On some models there is a bracket on the brake flex line that bolts to the control arm using that bolt.

Didn't know that. The pictures of the part showed 4 bolts, no rivets, as did the other Mevotech part and my originals.

Yes, I had one like that not long ago with 3 rivets and a bolt. But the cracked boot certainly renders it useless.

The more I look at the picture it looks like a plastic cover over the boot to protect it during shipping.

And that sounds too much like some of the reviews I read online. Sad. My one and only experience with them was so good.

I did the online chat with them just now asking for a phone number and they replied due to a staff shortage they don't have a phone option.

I checked, you are correct, thats why you get paid the big bucks!! Ive only ever installed a ball joint, never ordered one of these with bushings and ball joint installed. I wonder if the people I deal with know it is just for shipping?

I had a good experience with Tdot previously but never had to return anything. They were very slow in shipping so I suspected they were not stocking the part I ordered. Then more recently, I was asking questions about the part and delivery, it was something out of stock everywhere else I looked, never ever got a reply, i could have placed an order, theyd take my money and Id be on back order

Just need to get the rad sorted.

I got a prepaid courier tag yesterday to send via Purolator, shipped it today. Supposed to be there the 22nd, the rad will get reviewed in the warehouse, then take 8-10 days to issue a refund.

Sad you had to threaten them to get action. Not exactly stellar customer service.
