It'll be kind of a crowning touch in the fake 65.

Does it come apart Carl. I might LED it.

My mom said to me once when I was younger,

"You can't own anything, unless you can take it apart"

Yes, it's actually not a bad job at all to go in and change the bulb if I recall right.

Does the Phillips screw in the back release the front bezel?

That will release the entire tach head.

If possible, you don't want to remove that bezel. There's tabs on the bezel that fold over a lip to retain the bezel/lens assembly and those tabs are pretty much a one-use deal. It's almost impossible to bend them away, remove the bezel and then bend them back to retain it again. They break off when you try.

A bit later I'll try to post a pic, I have an NOS 1966 tach head which comes with a bezel in the box.

What you'll have in your hand when you remove the head from the cup-

When you turn it over it will look just like this plus the mounting bracket (not in this picture) will be on it-

Easy to get the bulbs out now.

Here is how the ring looks when it's new-

I have to show off the twin sister to your's. They both have a very pretty face!

I'll have to check a bit later. I think it was either a 168 or 194 from what I recall.

I think I have LED's of the push in type to be used with the twist sockets.

Removing the ring, by bending the tabs up then back down will distort the face bezel edge?

No the bezel will be fine but the tabs break off and then you have to use some sort of glue/epoxy whatever to hold it in place.

I just pulled a socket out. I can't read the number but I can tell by looking at it removed that it's a 168 or 194. Seems to me the 168 is one less candle power than a 194 but I'm going by memory?
