Hi 4speed......seeing your 66 wiring thread got me thinking.....silly question....where is the 4-way emergency flasher switch located on my 66 Parisienne? third year with this ponch and thankfully haven't needed 4ways but not sure where they are if they are? Cheers!
If I remember correctly four way flashers did not become standard equipment until 1967. In 1966 it was a dealer add on and would have been mounted under the dash with a big red pull out knob that flashed when you pulled it out. I don't believe it was all that common in 1966.

These were aftermarket sold by Control Stat and others. You or your mechanic would splice it in to your harness. They show up regularly on eBay used and rarely new. I have one that I will be installing in my 65.
Yes but the one in my picture is a factory installation. Not that it really matters, or increases the value of the car any, just cool to have an unusual option!

Thank you gents....I was wondering how I could miss it....I noticed in another thread some models the 4-way switch was actually in the glove box....haven't checked that yet- just pulled car out from shelter earlier this evening....getting my new BF Goodies on tomorrow getting car seasoned and ready for Stateside drive in May. Appears our Ontario weather getting a little more stable....I hope LOL.
If it was a dealer installed accessory, it was likely installed like mine is. Mine is on the option list for the car so I know it's factory installed.
If someone bought an aftermarket kit, which I understand is not uncommon, they could install it anywhere if they just ran the wiring to the steering column wiring connector. I've pulled a number of aftermarket kits out of mid 60's cars over the years.
