64 wagon ceramic coated

Broker I sold both my cars to sent me this!! wet sanded the peeling clear coat of, cut & buffed paint then ceramic coated it WOW!!! what a change!! Did the same to 409 Impala before shipping to new owner in NZ. Any one know the cost of doing this?? I don't think it's cheap but likely less than a re- paintthumbnail.jpg

Beautiful. I seen that car when it was in Regina several years ago, and the flaking was quite bad. Night and day difference.

For the wet sanding, polishing and ceramic coating. Ceramic Pro quoted me around 2K or so. They have a website as well..

Ill also add because I asked the question. What happens if I spend the money on the work, etc. and it gets damaged. One week before I was to get booked. some A-hole hit and run on my car and scratched the whole side... but apparently it gets reported to insurance as well that it was ceramic coated (if professionally done)

I just booked my Impala in for the treatment.  Clay cleaning, buff, wax.  April 15th.  Should have some decent weather by then.  Didnt ask for a price.   Have had 2 cars detailed to various degrees in the past and always been delighted.

In Whitby Ontario

Cliff, Are you doing wax though or ceramic coating? Ceramic coatings different than wax. Both have their own pros/benefits though. I think wax comes out glossier (but you anlso have to do it more often) and ceramic coating for durability (little less gloss than wax if correct, but last a lot lot longer)

The body work was done 18 years ago and the car is stored in an underground garage at our apartment.

If I recall the last detailing the owner of the shop mentioned he had some ceramic left over from another job.

I did notice that the rain-water seem to bubble up and just sit on the surface

.I suspect some ceramic.

We will have that discussion when car goes in.

Said he needs the car for 2 days.

Not sure about doing the interior yet.
