This is just crazy.

I've been trying to sell my wife's 2016 Mini Cooper S on all the typical platforms (Autotrader, Kijiji, Facebook etc) and it's been nuts
how much crap I have to filter through to find legitimate buyers.

I really hate this. I don't like trading in vehicles, but that may be a more viable option these days.

Regards, Scott (LandShark ...)

I have been attempting to sell my 67 Impala all summer long.  Cruise nights, big yellow for sale banner on top edge of the windshield and back window.

Plackards listing all of the goodies etc.

People are interested and lots of conversation but when i disclose the price all goes silent.

So I decided to go the Auto Trader route and placed an ad with 15 photos.  One reply requesting underbody shots. The ad was free.   After a couple of weeks and no hits I decided to upgrade to the Gallery option for 34.95.  To date after many faxes I have not been able to add any more photos, but i have editited the original 15 with underbody shots.

I did get a phone call from a lady and it seemed strange that it was from a USA location.  She indicated that she had moved to Ontario.  She insisted on texting.  Well 3 hours later we could not come to an agreement on how to proceed as she wanted a vehicle report from a specific web site.  I checked the web site and they were asking for a 75.00 fee.  I indicated that I would not be paying any fee.  She wanted the vin number and i gave that to her but it was not the current alpha numeric number and she would not believe me that it was a true 1967 vin number.

I have since got an Ontario motor vehicle report showing  3 owners in Ontario.

The car was originally registered in Saskatchewan. No record of ownership there.

Yesterday I go my Cell phone bill and it indicated that I had made 46 PAY PER USE calls. for a charge of $18.40 added to my regular bill.

If that is all that i got scammed for i guess i am lucky.

Cliff

I'd put it on Bring a Trailer Cliff. One flat fee and they have a huge audience

I'm not sure how she scammed you.  Sounds like your cell package didn't include texting to the US, and you got charged for something you don't subscribe to.
