You know, I've always loved these.

And I've always dreamt of them. But I can't deal with those boat anchor engines the 352/390.

I can't break free of the Chevrolet engine. Am I wrong?

Have you driven one?  Would a 352 or 390 have less oomph than a 283?

352was a dog, a 390 high performance worked real good, drove one in a fairlane gt convertible once , someone traded it in on a Chevy. It was a mint 66, red with black buckets, redlines, about 69/70, it would lay a lot of rubber with both tires. I liked the look of the 65 full size too.

Mine had the 390 (and a Toploader). Maybe the suspension was a little tired however I found this car to be by far the worst handling old car I ever owned.

Through 1965 the base Big Ford V8 in Canada was the 352, skipping the 289 & short-lived 260 small blocks that were offered in the U.S.
