My 70 Parisienne LS6 with M20 4 speed is ok around town with 3.07 rear gears, but it still revving a little higher than I'd like on the highway considering I cruise at 80 mph. I've got a set of 2.73's with a plan of putting them in.

This is only the second Burnished Brown 1969 Impala convertible I have heard of. Back in 2006 I found a very tired New Jersey 1969 Impala convertible in Burnished Brown in the same condition as this L-72 car. It had an L48 350 & factory M20 Muncie, buckets, p/s & manual drums. Let's see if I can find pics. Ah yes...
It would have had by default 3.31:1 rear gearing but could've had a range from 3.07 - 3.73 with the 4-speed / L48.

I'm looking at the paperwork from GMVVS and the notion that this is a 1 of 7 SS 427 L72 4 Speed Convertibles imported into Canada for 1969.
My understanding is that Model 16467 is an Impala V8 Convertible as shown on document.
My understanding is that the SS427 was no longer a model in 1969 rather an option - RPO Z24 as shown on document.
In reading the GMVVS document it is clear that there were 7 model 16467 V8 Impala Convertibles imported into Canada for 1969.
What is not clear to me is how many Convertible SS 427, option RPO Z24 with option M21 were imported.
Unless my knowledge is wrong or I'm misreading the documents I think this car is not 1 of 7 SS 427 L72 4 speed Convertibles imported to Canada. I think it is possible it could be the only one.
Logic........ Anyway I am confident in saying it is not a 1 of 7 SS427 4 speeds. It is rarer than that!! Cam already posted a L48 car so that likely takes the sample down to a maximum of 5 imported convertibles left out there.
There were a total of 7 full-sized Chevrolets brought into Canada with L72 power, be it Biscayne, Impala SS427, coupe, sedan, convertible, wagon, whatever. I know they weren't all SS427 convertibles.
Jeez, seven. I could have counted that on one of my polydactyl cat's paws. It would have been interesting to see how each one was equipped and how they were purposed (and fated).

I was looking at the option list for that '69 SS427. It had fender skirts but no optional wheel equipment, meaning in this case, dog dish hubcaps on body-coloured wheels. In '68 the P01 wheelcovers came on SS427s when the cars also had buckets (Z03 Super Sport), but in '69 there was no such inclusion by default. What could they have been thinking when they spec'd this one, it was 1950? Certainly not, based on the drive-train. Aftermarket mags with fender skirts?
