Did this forum exist on another platform before 2008?

When roughly 150 users join in the first 2 weeks, usually means they've jumped ships.

Got curious... I've been around since April 5 2008 and though: Am I an OG member? Looked up and... nope. There's like 300 members before me.

No, it was here all along. I did a big Kijiji promotion for the site on the classic car category when I started the site. You can't get away with that now on Kijiji.
The platform isn't the best as far as forums go but I kind of like the fact we haven't changed the look over the years. Same screen colour etc. Kind of like a comfy chair.

That describes it perfectly Todd. Just like your favorite comfy chair.
Don't change a thing. Old people don't like change. Just checked the calendar and I'm only months away LOL

Prior to this web site, there was a simple Beaumont message board online, but it petered out after the link from a host site vanished and a particularly opinionated mob unleashed on somebody selling a customized '69 Beaumont "Spiderman".
One name I remember from that old message board that carried over to here is Kelly Coe. This was probably around 2001. That was where I learned of the company "Accufab" that was reproducing Beaumont emblems (plus local brand boat emblems). They are gone but Dale's Musclecar Parts continued with either the existing stock, the molds, or the connections to get them.

I remember hearing about this site in 2008 though I didn't join immediately. Soon enough though. I remember so many Carls on the site that it got confusing.

Hey, Happy Birthday!
Has it really been that long?

Confusing? Or do you mean annoying?

Happy Anniversary
I believe I heard about this site starting up on Aubrey Bruneau's Yahoo Group back then.

Well...HAPPY BIRTHDAY Canadian Poncho! I NEVER would have been able to find the information, advice, and parts for my 2+2 purchase in 2009! And such a nice group of people!!biggrin I can honestly say, that without this site, I would not have even purchased my car. I also would have been totally lost on finding parts and information. So, a big THANKS to Todd for starting this site! I would encourage everyone who uses this site to support it financially. The wealth of knowledge and information from some of the members on here is priceless! It would be a travesty to lose the connection to those resources, due to insufficient funds to keep the site going! So grateful for Todd, this site and all of you!
