It is a Malibu with the Malibu SS side chrome only. Currently Crocus Yellow with black interior, it was originally Mist Blue (med blue metallic) with a white top & blue interior. Standard base 283, base 3-speed column shift, manual steering & brakes, manual convertible top, but a/c & power windows. In one of the underside photos it looks as though it has a factory overdrive unit on the tailhouse of the 3-speed. That means 3.70:1 rear axle! With o.d. engaged it acts like it has a 2.59:1 out back. Neat car. They did not have a base 300 convertible in the U.S. as we did in Canada, so to economize on a convertible you may occasionally find a Malibu convertible that is low on options, like manual tops.

Yes, certainly is an overdrive but the handle under the dash that says "OVERDRIVE" seems to be absent. It also has the SS gauge cluster which has to have been added, not available on a Malibu. Pretty cool car!
